Have you heard?
February 20 is National Margarita Day?
No wait its February 23…oh no it’s in May…
Oh wait wasn’t this Saturday and Sunday National Margarita Weekend?
So heres the story, Foodimentary celebrates food every day. Drinks, cakes, fast food, slow food(although there’s not a national Snail Day..yet) you name it!
Over the past years this “Day” issue comes up. So I say, lets call it a truces of sorts and do this
From now on National Margarita Day will be on the 3rd Friday in February as a great starter for National Martagarita Weekend.
Why not? Most people can celebrate after work and throughout the weekend without worry of the dreaded “day after” effect at work.
Comment and share this if you agree or disagree.
Let’s celebrate this wonderful drink and have fun with it!

I could enjoy them any day. Tequila!
You just tell me when, and I will drink a margarita. In fact, you could tell me it is “Don’t Drink Margarita Day”, and I would drink one in spite of your statement. I loooove your blog.
All I can say is because of all of your tweets and posts about margaritas over the past few days :) that’s all I could think about yesterday, as of about 11am. Nonetheless, I was very involved in work all day and didn’t even end up making one, though it’s still on my mind … I have a video blog in the works about a watermelon margatini (horrible, horrible word, I know, but one of the best cocktails I’ve ever made.) I’ve found that Patron, homemade sour mix, and fresh fruit puree (of whatever kind) makes one crazy good margarita.
wonderful! Cheers!
I think any day that you have the proper ingredients on hand could be National Margarita Day! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!
Robert,
Not to get all snarky but its not much of a truce when you don’t contact the other party while arbitrarily deciding when National Margarita Day is on your own.
Also, do you approve all comments like a good blog does or just ones most self serving and complimentary to you?
National Margarita Day is and always will be Feb 22.
It’s obvious people disagree on what ‘day’ to celebrate Margarita. That’s why I posted this blog entry.
I’m SO glad you celebrate the Margarita! Is it my fault that there are three or more days that people consider “Margarita Day”
From my perspective, I have been talking about this food holiday for years and hate that there are so many opinions of what ‘day’ it is.
Don’t you think the proposed solution is reasonable for the coming years?
Hope you get to celebrate margaritas whenever you like and have a great time!
BTW, Who’s Robert?
Drinks on a friday is usually a great idea. :)
I love margaritas! Because of my stupid fibromyalgia (do I sound bitter much?) I can no longer drink because of the medicine. Trust me, I tried. I was a total zombie.
any excuse to drink a margarita is good enough for me.
true, everyday is margarita day
I look forward to my daily dose of foodimentary…
A weekend would be best to honor the drink. What about other drinks originated in the US?
I’ll drink to that! Skål! Cheers! Kampai!
Normal days become far more exciting since I’ve found your blog–I now have a reason to dig into various delicious foods every day!
I’m passing the Versatile Blogger Award to you!

I’ll drink to that! One lime margarita please:)
Snail Day is July 14, the French National Day.
Will add it to my list promptly! sounds great.
I’ll drink to that too!
Last year CBS – had the National Margarita Day on 22th of Feb – does it really matter – a good cocktail should have more then one day per year.
We think it’s a great idea! Shared your post with friends and then thought hell, Monday is not a good Margarita night :-0
You could have said it was February 35th and I would have made extra spaces on my calendar. ; )
I am with you. Thanks for making the call. Do you have the approval of Mexico? :-)
